In short: the AFT has five events scored 0–100 each (500 max). You pass with 60+ in every event and 300+ total (350+ for combat MOSs). Example: a 24-year-old male with a 230-lb deadlift, 30 push-ups, 2:10 sprint-drag-carry, 2:30 plank and 18:00 2-mile run scores 372 — a pass.

60-point (minimum) and 100-point (max) standards

From the official AFT score tables; times in m:ss. Combat-standard soldiers use the male column.

How AFT scoring works

Each event is scored from 0 to 100 points using age- and sex-specific columns of the official Army Fitness Test score tables (approved May 15, 2025, effective June 1, 2025). Your total is the sum of the five events, up to 500.

  • 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift — heaviest weight lifted for three reps (lbs).
  • Hand-Release Push-Up – Arm Extension — repetitions in two minutes.
  • Sprint-Drag-Carry — 5 × 50 m shuttle (sprint, drag, lateral, carry, sprint); lower time is better.
  • Plank — hold time; longer is better.
  • 2-Mile Run — lower time is better. Soldiers on profile may take an alternate aerobic event (walk, bike, swim or row) graded GO/NO-GO.

General vs. combat standard

Most soldiers need 60 points per event and 300 total. Soldiers in combat MOSs/AOCs are held to a sex-neutral standard — the “M | C” column for their age group — and need 350 total. The Army applied the combat standard to the active component from January 1, 2026 and to the Reserve and Guard from June 1, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is a passing AFT score?+

At least 60 points in each of the five events and 300 points total under the general standard. Soldiers in combat MOSs must score 350 total with at least 60 per event. The maximum is 500.

What are the five AFT events?+

The 3-repetition maximum deadlift, hand-release push-up (arm extension), sprint-drag-carry, plank and 2-mile run. The AFT replaced the ACFT on June 1, 2025 and dropped the standing power throw.

How is the AFT combat standard scored?+

Combat-standard soldiers are scored on the sex-neutral “M | C” column of the official tables for their age group, and need 350 points total. Twenty-four combat MOS/AOCs are covered after Army Directive 2026-07 added 12D, 89D and 89E.

How are scores between two chart rows counted?+

The tables are step charts: you earn the highest point value whose printed standard you met. A 335-lb deadlift for a 17–21 male, for example, earns the 330-lb (98-point) value, not 99.

Is this the official Army calculator?+

No. NetPay Atlas is an independent site and not affiliated with the U.S. Army or Department of Defense. We implement the official scoring tables and test against chart values, but your graded score sheet (DA Form 705) is what counts.
